The Painting On Purpose Project
Painting On Purpose has allowed me to give $8,348 to 10 organizations that make a positive impact on the lives of mothers and children.
Painting On Purpose is a project I created in honor of my grandma Neva, and it allows me to support families with my paintings. The paintings are released each year on her birthday - February 6th - and ALL of the proceeds go straight to helping others.
♥ My precious Grandma Neva passed away on March 7th, 2026, just days after shipping the 12th Annual Painting On Purpose painting to its new owner in Canada. Neva lived for 103 years +1 month +1 day... in true creative fashion ♥

My grandma always lovingly and happily supported me being an artist. She thought it was so fantastic that someone could make a living creating art. She was, of course, an artist herself, though she wouldn't have admitted to it. Her medium was a variety of materials: carved eggs, paintings, clay, acorn crafts... we spent hours around the table together, creating, when I was a child. This project and the ability to support others with my paintings, is in honor of my grandma.
Here is a vid I took of my grandma painting Plein Air for the first time, at age 90.

♥ In 2015 this project allowed me to give $704 to the NW Mothers Milk Bank in Portland, OR (see the delivery of the $ here).
♥ In 2016, this project allowed me to give $455 to Food for Orphans.
♥ In 2017, this project allowed me to give $995 to Bridge The Gap of Clark County, supporting foster children.
♥ In 2018, this project allowed me to give $715 to Community Roots Collaborative, to help build homes for the homeless.
♥ In 2019, this project allowed me to give $1382 to Pink Lemonade Project, to provide education, support, love and friendship to breast cancer survivors.

♥ In 2022, this project allowed me to give $895 to Back To Healing, a non-profit with the mission to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by scoliosis, all over the world. This organization also provides FREE mental health, medical & surgical care for children living with severe scoliosis in South America, Africa and the Caribbean. This organization is close to my heart because my youngest son has scoliosis. He had spinal surgery in February, 2022.
♥ In 2023, this project allowed me to give $460 to Mary's Place in Seattle, WA. Mary's Place has a goal that No Child Sleeps Outside.
♥ In 2024, Tender Illumination was created and when she sells, this project will allow me to give $998 to The Hope Effect. Changing the way the world cares for orphans, because every child deserves a family.
♥ In 2025, this project allowed me to give $576 to The Giving Closet in WA. The Giving Closet believes "no one should be hungry, unclothed, or unloved within our reach".
♥ In 2026, this project allowed me to give $556 to Mary's Place in Seattle, WA. Mary's Place has a goal that No Child Sleeps Outside.
Please feel free to suggest charities for the upcoming years of POP (I plan to do this for as long as I possibly can… I see no reason to stop).
