When children do not receive adequate personal interaction within a loving environment, development is stunted and learning abilities are delayed or lost. Many kids age out only to face a future of crime, prostitution, or trafficking.

The Painting On Purpose Project, which allows me to support families with my paintings, is in honor of my grandma Neva. Each year I release a new original painting on my grandma's birthday, and choose an organization to receive the money from the sale of the painting. TODAY, she turns 101 years old!
 
I wanted my grandma Neva's name to be attached to Painting On Purpose in order to honor her creativity and generosity, and the support she has always given me as I pursued my dreams of being an artist. She planted the first seeds of creativity in me. At 101 years of age, she still creates handmade hats that we donate in our communities, and I estimate she’s made and given over 700 hats.
