This mama is providing a place for her child – a safe seat for experiencing and exploring. She turns her child toward the warmth and the light, and her memories are behind her, not gone, just there. Pansies represent the urge to trust in the love from someone else – to give affection and to trust that it will be there in return. The child is just beginning to trust and share love with another creature, learning to reach out.

Red Pansies represent passion and love. The mother looks to the future with hope as she trusts in love as well. She needs to know that there is something beautiful coming for her, too. That the future as a whole is warmer, despite chilly memories at her back.
