Message from the Artist: This Moment. The kiss, the joy, the realization that THIS is what matters. The pure simple second-to-second action of raising a child. Raising by listening, watching, reacting. True and honest engagement, face to face. I raised my babies in a time before smartphones, and I am grateful every day for that. Neither them nor I had a small screen that took our attention away from the moment. Mothering might have been more difficult then, but also easier than now. I can see it both ways.
