Grandma is now 102! 💜 Tender Illumination

Grandma is now 102! 💜 Tender Illumination

KATIE BERGGREN

Tender Illumination, the 10th Annual Painting On Purpose painting, was released on my grandma's 101st birthday! Grandma has turned 102 since then :) and Tender Illumination is still awaiting her forever home, where she will light up the space for a lucky family and give $998 to a VERY good cause. I'm keeping ZERO of the money.

In this time... helping is so important. Doing what we can to bring joy, to bring care, to connect, to love... this is what we need right now.

Because this is a POP painting, her purchaser will help to give a beautiful gift, see below.. the Painting On Purpose project has allowed me to give $7216 to 9 different organizations, since 2015, and Tender Illumination will continue that tradition, this time blessing The Hope Effect.

(Today happens to be MY birthday and I'm popping free SURPRISE prints into every order through Saturday. No code needed. I've made some beauties to surprise you with!)

Tender Illumination is the only available Painting On Purpose painting, and when she has sold, ALL of the money from her purchase will go straight to The Hope Effect. Go See More Photos of her! OR Watch her being created.

The Hope Effect will receive 100% of the money from the purchase of this original painting on canvas.

The Hope Effect is changing the way the world cares for orphans, through families, homes and tender care, instead of institutions

Why I chose The Hope Effect for the 10th Annual Painting On Purpose:

The Hope Effect is working to bring vulnerable orphaned children into loving families, reducing the need for institutional care, around the world.

A message from the Hope Effect website:

There are millions of orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide, with an estimated 2.7 million of them living in orphanages. However, there is clear and compelling research on the damaging physical and psychological effects of traditional, institutional orphan care.

When children do not receive adequate personal interaction within a loving environment, development is stunted and learning abilities are delayed or lost. Many kids age out only to face a future of crime, prostitution, or trafficking.

We know there is a better way. We know every child deserves a family.

The Painting On Purpose Project, which allows me to support families with my paintings, is in honor of my grandma Neva. Each year I release a new original painting on my grandma's birthday, and choose an organization to receive the money from the sale of the painting.

I wanted my grandma Neva's name to be attached to Painting On Purpose in order to honor her creativity and generosity, and the support she has always given me as I pursued my dreams of being an artist. She planted the first seeds of creativity in me. She still creates handmade hats that we donate in our communities, and I estimate she’s made and given over 700 hats.

Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful week's end!

Love & Sincerely, Katie
