Divine Nature – blue – my new favorite DIY face mask

I’ve been contemplating wrapping up the Kindred Collection and working on some larger paintings, instead – but then I remember how much I love creating monochromatic paintings… to take one color and really feel and stretch into it – it feels divine. Then, those accent marks in a complementary color… so fun. And this smaller size really allows for experimentation. Nature gives us what we need, and I need to keep working in color. Divine Nature is the 18th painting in the Kindred Collection – see the whole collection here

Divine Nature is an 8×8″ original mini painting on chunky canvas – This painting feels warm, yet crisp. They are stopping to feel the breath of sun as it creeps into the cool. This piece feels incredibly fresh ~ a bit blustery on the outside, yet warm and sweet where they meet and create heat.

My NEW favorite DIY natural skin mask
I’m a sucker for natural skin products (like from-my-fridge natural)

Thank you to Kathryn of the Earth Minded Mama Facebook Page (request to join the group, if you want!) for sharing this with me (see below the painting I created for Kathryn and her family!)

Honey & Baking Soda Mask
Manuka Honey (or raw organic honey) ~ 1 TBish
Baking Soda ~ 1-2 tsp

Manuka Honey is known for fading and healing scars,
and honey in general is good for fighting infection.

First off, please know your skin, if you intuitively don’t feel like this is right for you, listen. And/or do a test spot on your skin to be sure you are not sensitive to the ingredients. Mix together in your palm and soften with the warmth of your hands. Apply to face and GENTLY massage around for 1-3 minutes. Allow to stay on for 10-20 minutes (I once got to painting and left it on 1.25 HOURS, but I was okay)

Remove with a warm washcloth, it comes off so smoothly and easily.
I like to finish with a splash or two of apple cider vinegar diluted in some filtered water. Super easy, super simple, and I love how my skin feels after. Then, moisturize.
