A Sneak Peek, An Invitation & A Tree ♥
KATIE BERGGRENMy newest collection is in process and contains soulful narratives of women inspired by stories I wrote many years ago, and sketches I created in 2021. (read more in last week's blog post)
The women are rolling forward as the days go by, and here is a sneak peek of one, with her story.
The Peace-Seeker: Is there such thing as silence? Beneath the thrumming of the Earth and the beating of the seas, can we find the soft delight of “no thing” amidst the pulsing in our ears? From the blanket of the sea to the blossoms of the field, she seeks it. And when it has been found, she will yearn, ever so slightly, for the wild. This moment is your life.
The date of release is to be announced,
in the meantime, I have an invitation for you
An Invitation
If this collection speaks to you, I’d love to invite you to send me a photo of your own facial profile for possible inspiration within the series. I'm looking for a range of faces and energies to help shape this collection. I've already received a few and they are great. Yours will be, too!
If your photo inspires a painting, you’ll receive a special collector's discount should you feel drawn to make that original piece your own.
Please know: your photo will be a point of inspiration, but the final artwork will be an imagined version woven with color, emotion, and natural elements. Each woman in this series becomes a character with her own story and subtle magic.
A Tree
My husband and I prioritize our quiet together walks of 4-7 miles per day. These walks open our eyes to nature’s beauty and to each other with rich moments of conversation, quiet and silliness.
One day several weeks ago, we walked past the trees we’ve walked past 50 times before. This time, I stopped, realizing that this color palette should inspire this tiny seed of a collection that I was nurturing in my soul.
The collection has since blossomed, but I still want to include these natural colors. I texted my mom to ask my stepfather what type of tree they were… Sycamores!
This will be a challenge for me, someone who tends to lean toward blues and magentas, reds and purples… to create with this limited natural palette, but I will make a valiant attempt.

I’m excited to share more soon. Thank you for being part of (and sharing your excitement for!) this unfolding body of work, even though they are just faces :)
Love & Sincerely, Katie
