I have two special somethings to share with you today:
- New Work: Sweetness Beyond Sorrow
- Silent Story, Mothering With A Heavy Heart
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Sweetness Beyond Sorrow ~Sweet joy and relief on the other side of a storm. I wanted to capture a magical connection here, as if the new baby previously knew his/her mama, and was sent purposely ~ chosen by hand ~ to bring this mama divine peace after a storm The rainbow is encompassing them, closing out the stormy sky, bringing new hope, new life, new joy. This original painting has sold, and prints are available.
2) Silent Story, Mothering With A Heavy Heart
Getting down to the nitty gritty for my Silent Story ~ can’t stop now. This started as art therapy for myself, but I truly believe she needs to be out in the world.
I’ve had a lot of projects over the last couple weeks, also some troubles with time management (uh oh), but I’m moving forward, nonetheless. Keep moving forward.
To Do & Partially DONE:
concept,
research,
writing,
timeline,
storyboard,
sketches,
writing,
more sketches,
paintings,
Meet & share with some key people,layout,
herding the ideas!
creating a mock-up (or two)
printing companies,
printing quotes,
more paintings,
research at bookstores,
how I want the book to look!
publisher queries? Maybe.
Kickstarter to help with printing? Maybe.
more writing… more sketches… more painting.
And guess what? Despite all the writing, I’m not intending this book to have any words, thus why I’m calling it my Silent Story (working title).
The images will guide us through the narrative, and we can create our own stories. No two experiences are exactly the same, and I respect that. I don’t want to lay my story on top of you, I want to invite you in…
Take my hand and let us feel Not Alone in our experiences.
Here are two new paintings representing mothering a warm and full-of-joy child, whilst dealing with your own blue and heavy heart.
Because this is a self-imposed project, I rely ONLY on myself. But I’m also scared about some specific things. I’ll tell you some of those next week. In the meantime, if you’ve read this far, thank you ~ feel free to send me a note. I’ll open my heart to your words.
Love & Sincerely ~ Katie
