In an effervescent atmosphere, an overlap of energetic realms – a fluttering, breathing crisscross of worlds: the soul/spirit world and the physical world… (maybe I just LOST you with my woo-woo-ness, but this is how I view my new painting)… the souls watch over, the spirits are waiting for the little one to arrive.
So many stories I have received over the last 15 years… of a mama saying goodbye to a precious soul(s) who once called her body home. And here I wanted to celebrate their presence and watchfulness ~ the souls of all whom we’ve lost, I believe, are keeping watch ~ anticipating and expectant, just like us.
I believe in positive visualization and I also view this piece as a visual way out of the loop of loss ~ a step up from sadness. Something to gently rest our eyes on that may infuse hope. I hope that if you needed to see some hope today, that she has given you even just a bit of peace.
Souls is this week’s Kindred Collection release. She was claimed by one of my loyal collectors – who asked after seeing her in process on Instagram. I don’t feel right denying someone the joy of a new painting, just because it isn’t a certain day of the week. I’m not showing finished pieces til release day, but if you see something in process that you might like, don’t hesitate to private message me (or email me) for first dibs ~ I won’t pressure you into purchasing.
I have prints of Souls, right here.
These last two weeks I’ve needed a way out of my downward-facing-loop. And painting while listening to sweet stories and good music has helped a lot.
Earlier in the week I completed BELONGING – and my heart gushes over her, she is so meant to be in this world. You can find her here.
They are vulnerable in their skin, but close together and connected by intimacy. They belong. Tucked within a warm and benign world, their world. I have had the word “Belonging” written on my easel for almost a year, knowing that the perfect piece to fit that name would come along, and here she is.
