The canvas that contains this painting previously held a tree ~ a big branchy tree full of bird life that was inspired by the tree in my front yard ~ a tree painting I had started but had not felt the desire to finish. I decided to create this earthy pair over the top of the tree and felt its influence in the natural colors and movement. Consequently, this painting has a heavily textured surface that gives me happy, inspirational goose bumps.
