Last week brought some completely unexpected days of ER, ICU and worrying about my mama. She’s okay now, healing, but a few things occurred: 1) she called me when she fell and I was able to run to her side and get her to the ER and 2) my mind kept wandering to ‘what could have happened’ if I hadn’t answered my phone, and 3) I didn’t get last week’s painting done (thus, no email sent)
I finished the painting on Sunday, shared it on Facebook and Instagram, and it was claimed almost immediately. I will share her with you today, though, because I can offer prints. Kindred Collection painting #9 is named Here In My Soul.
On Sunday, I laid down for an afternoon rest with my hubby. Sun was streaming through the blinds… calm, peace, quiet… mild in mood, temperature and lighting. I started thinking of a bundle of legs on a bed, stretched and curled together. A mama buried in the middle. As I began building the image in my mind, I contemplated the miracle it would be if they could all four find some moments of quietude…
My husband drifted off to sleep and I snuck away, to draw. It was time for Kindred Collection painting #10!
Her name is Mid-Day Miracle… she is a 10×10” original painting on deep canvas and is currently available here. This idea excited me, endlessly, and I plan to explore it again. To find a moment, fresh in the middle of the day, a great book, the power of imagination… then a little doze to wrap it all up.
I hope you have a wonderful week’s end and a weekend of peace.
Thank you for taking the time to read along,
Love & Sincerely, Katie
