The Artist’s Rambling Thoughts About This Painting:

Renewal ~ the child is quick to rise and accept. The mother is more hesitant, yet raises her chin to new possibilities ~ inspired by her child. Cool blue comfort surrounds them, representing peaceful space and serenity. A place for them to come home to.

Beyond the peaceful everyday, the Source swirls ~ the universal collection of ideas, rhythm, creativity, possibility. Again, the child reaches into it, ready to experience what this renewal has to offer. The mother begins, opening her hands for reaching, expanding, seeking new blessings ~ yet staying grounded in that peaceful internal space.

I plan to take chances this year ~ to make myself vulnerable, to be proactive, to happen to my life vs letting it happen to me. I love-love-love the cool blue comfort ~ but the energetic reds are calling. And like these figures on the canvas, I plan to keep the blue in my eyes, as I reach my heart into the red expanse.

Won’t you join me? May this painting inspire us…

“So as long as a person is capable of self-renewal, they are a living being.”
Henri Frederic Amiel

“Nature often holds up a mirror so we can see more clearly the ongoing processes of growth, renewal, and transformation in our lives.”

Love & Sincerely, Katie
