Budgeting & Beautiful Things ♥ Art that Gives Back

I hope you have been well! I missed you last week as I was down with Covid – a ‘gift’ I picked up from my grandma when celebrating her 103rd birthday. Yep, she’s 103 years old and working through Covid, and doing a darn fine job of it 😊 (and I'm all healed up now).

 

 

Art (as a physical object) is a luxury (even though visually it feels like a necessity) and people are choosing to spend their money on food right now, and I’m okay with that. 

 

I’m spending my money on necessities, so how could I NOT respect others making that choice too?

 

This means, as a small business, that I must find some of my grocery money from another source, as I can’t rely on business right now, and so I am doing so.

 

I would never expect someone to sacrifice what they need so that I feel successful as an artist. 

 

I celebrate 23 years of being a successful business owner, this year is just a little different.

 

Many of my collectors have plenty, and buying art is an achievable and joy-bringing accomplishment! For them, I’m here to sell it. And boy do I have beauties for those who invest in art.

 

Most of my collectors are mothers, fathers, and families, all with different stories... and to begrudge people their budgeting choices so I can feel validated, feels wrong.

 

I want people to buy what they need, and to buy beautiful things when they can. I hope we all look at art daily (a visual escape is necessary) and take it home when the time feels right.

The Daylight Dreams Collection was a success and I feel gratified by the existence of these pieces.

 

I have four hanging near my shipping supplies table, and they truly feel brave and purposeful. I know that the paintings that have sold are going into the welcoming hands of my beautiful collectors who also FEEL these pieces. (THANK YOU)
