Between Striving & Becoming ♥ new Daylight Dreams
KATIE BERGGREN
The inspiration keeps flowing, just like the summer days. There is a quote by Elizabeth Gilbert that I take to heart: “Next, next, always next.”
Why sit idly by and ignore the inspiration pulling at your brain, when you can jump right into the next painting/project/idea/creation/story?
Delay and distraction are inspiration destroyers
So, I’m working on another piece; currently underpainted with PINK! And a week or so ago I sat out on my back deck, sunning my feet while my neighbor’s cat, Lulu, came around for pets, and drew for a long time.
Stealing some moments (that may have otherwise been wasted) to envision multiple new pieces for this theme. It was satisfying to spill out my heart.
Here’s a page from that drawing session:

You are on a path, I’m on a path (a new one that I’ll perhaps tell you about next week), and I’m interested in how we find, stray from and stay on, our paths. What we bring and what we take away. Who do we trust?
Whether we are heading in the right direction or astray… I like to think we can determine this part through intuition and trust.
Whether we allow ourselves to stay focused, or if we allow drama and to-dos, irritation and pointless tasks to pull us OFF our path… so that we reach the end of our days frustrated.
I am currently lost in some ways, but holding steadily to my paintbrush because of the joy it brings me. And my family. I take several days off from painting, then I step back up to the easel as if face-to-face again with an old and trustworthy friend, and off we go.
Things make more sense when paint is moving
HOLD ON to what your intuition tells you is the right thing… what are you doing (even if it is a small thing) that makes SENSE?
We’ll figure out the rest of our path as we go.
YOU are loved.
Love & Sincerely,
Katie
