Which resonates more with you: pieces that feature a woman alone, or those that depict a woman with child/ren? As the children in our lives grow, I find that we are increasingly drawn to paintings that celebrate our own voyages and remind us of our potency and purpose. I’m creating more artworks focused on individual women, as my boys continue to mature. Perhaps we’re seeking inspiration that reflects our lives beyond being the center of our children’s universes? That feels healthy, to me. What do you think?
Speaking of a voyage... somehow, the 2+ month-long creation of The Graceful Nature Collection fits nicely into a 3 minute highlight video :) that's kinda crazy.
♥ Several of the pieces in the Collection have been claimed and have headed to homes to bring light, love and inspiration to strong women who are loving and being loved.
But some of my favorites are still available. Discover the women.
If your budget says no to an original, prints are available, too.
♥ A donation has been made to Mary's Place, a percentage of the sales during the 3 Days Of Grace. Thanks for that. Mary's Place strives to move families and children off the street and into safe housing, whether it is cold OR hot outside.
♥ I've finished the companion ebook for the collection. It features behind-the-scenes info, sketches, progress shots and inspirational quotes. See sneak peeks into the book.
"This is an absolutely STUNNING ebook!
Everything is beautiful!" ~ D.T, collector
♥ Since the completion and release of the paintings, I've cleaned, dusted and re-arranged my studio, which comes very naturally after a big pile of effort. I'm now burying my heart in custom paintings and my nose in books.
There is usually a melancholy that follows a big release. A bit of blue that clings to my edges no matter what I involve myself in. I can't quite explain it, but cleaning-up usually helps some.
♥ I can feel the next set of creations budding ever so tenderly, deep in my core. Not sure what will come of that, but I'll keep you posted. I can't NOT create, it seems. Even when it feels like the odds are stacked in a frustrating way, making it hard for my paintings to be noticed, I still can't NOT meander my way down a path that leads to making.
Wishing you a beautiful day ♥
Love & Sincerely,
Katie
