The Week Of Love was fun, and Sabrina MQ was the winner of Deepest Breath ♥ thank you to those who participated. I now have the extra sets of art coasters in the shop, if you were hoping for some.
This week has brought more simplifying (and a good read!) and much of that work has been on my website and in my biz systems. I have designed about 10 websites in my 20 years in business, and this current one is the best.
Funny how we can LOVE something, then later wonder “HOW could I have loved this?!” I guess it goes that way with all kinds of things, we are evolving, after all.
above: a new piece I'm working on in the studio - Open Skies vibes! "Spring Faithfully Follows Winter" is just a note I keep close by, to remind us that the tough times do pass eventually.
Many times, however, I have wondered how one can reconcile with having a core that loves to have less, but also a strong inner urge to CREATE. I also love creating gift products with my art (within reason) and just creating paintings. Am I being hypocritical?
I posted my conundrum in the Aspiring Minimalists private FB group last year, and the responses were very thoughtful, and I think we can all find helpful tidbits here, as we do whatever we are called to do.
Art is a necessity. Art satisfies the soul in ways that stuff cannot. The world needs less stuff and more art. ~ Leanne
ART is a beautiful and soulful addition to one's life. It's definitely not clutter or junk... you are putting good into the world. ~ Prudence
You're not asking people to fill their homes; you're providing them with beauty to make their homes beautiful and to give them joy. "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful". ~ Julie
A truly loved and sought out work of art made from the heart spreads good energy. ~ Laura
Big box store art doesn't cut it for a lot of people. They need meaning. And that's what you are providing. Even minimalists want pieces of true beauty and meaning in their homes. ~ Amber
I think it’s important for people to eliminate the “extra” so they can enjoy the beautiful things - like art - that fulfill them. Keep creating. People need beautiful things that make them happy. ~ Erin
In other words, LIVE WITH ART. Art illustrates our souls and our journeys.
Keep the art that speaks in your soul’s voice. It’s okay to pass the other pieces on to someone else – even if you purchased them from me!
LETTING GO is such a powerful action. When we cut our ties to the physical stuff, our inner worlds can feel freer and more spacious. I’ve been there, time and time again. It’s an addictive feeling.

My goal is that my website and my business reflect the option to add beauty to your home, not push anyone to spend money. I truly love packing up special orders for my collectors AND helping potential collectors find just the right piece. See this fairly new thing I'm doing? It's pretty rad :) I've sorted through my artwork (listed and unlisted), gathered ideas and sent out a lot of 'suggestion' emails. It's required that I have a categorization system! (hair color, number of kids, etc)
I'm grateful for your time, if you think this email would speak to another, please forward ♥ all artists would super appreciate some new eyeballs on their work :)
