The new year is upon us, and I, personally, have not yet got my footing. Have you? I’m still waiting for everything to stop spinning (although the BPPV vertigo finally ENDED after 15 days, yay!!) and settle.

 

New ideas, new directions, new people (and one very special OLD person! See below) have been swirling about me. 

 

Plus, the arrival of a new collection that I wasn’t expecting!

 

I pulled a thread at the end of 2025, put a canvas in front of me with no boundaries and no expectations, and I love what came out.

 

So I put out another canvas, and then another, and worked day after day. More threads, more texture, more painted fingers.

 

I haven’t named this collection, or any of the pieces (though they have working titles like Magical Forest and Magical Picnic!) but I’m keeping on, I’m following what my heart is asking for and I’m willing to see where it goes. The specifics and details will come when they are ready.

 

The act of standing in front of the easel is like medicine, it is meditation, it is pure.

 

I wish for you that you have something like this, something your own, where you can lose yourself. Thinking about my near 103-year-old grandmother, whom I’ve spent a lot of time with this year so far, I can’t help but believe that her daily urge to create has added years to her life. 

 

Perhaps because creating/crafting takes years OFF of our minds?

The paintings feature mothers and children, yes, but also women alone in forests, women seated in stillness, women leaning into the light. And so many magical trees, standing quietly in their own truth, growing toward no one’s expectation but their own.

 

Maybe these scenes represent versions or memories of your life. Maybe they are anticipations, hopes, or predictions?

 

Each painting is 3x3 inches ~ small, like the moments we often overlook. Yours will arrive mounted to 5x5 inch board and protected in a sleeve.

 

 

 

 

 

And now, that special, precious old person - my grandma Neva who is about to turn 103 ♥ (note, in the past I have found myself judging people who take their elderly to fast food restaurants - shouldn't they be eating the healthiest food possible? But the joy she found in BK was quite sweet and she loved her burger. My new feelings are that she should get to eat whatever she wants at almost 103. She has changed my life in many ways)
