As we hit a new transition between school and summer (for some of us it’s graduation time) do you begin to consider your life and your plans and what might be next for you?
It seems of utmost importance to recalculate and calibrate how we spend our time and what we do with our days… considering we don’t know how many more of them are assigned to us.
For me, this has been a time of quietness, considering, and pouring through the artwork that has brought me to where I am today. Writing, sketching, looking at books and previous art. (plus music, always music).
I’m between collections. It’s not scary or concerning, it just is.
The Tender Light Collection just finished and I’m not sure what is coming next... but it needs to be good,
it needs to be worthy,
it needs to seize my heart.
While working through possibilities this week, I’ve been building a page on my website that could be considered a tour through the eras of my art.
Since 2006 I’ve been pouring my heart and time (oh so much time) into one painting after another, many of them grouped into collections.
The Glimpses Collection, the Moments With Messages Collection, The Expanded Visions Collection, the Everyday Connection Collection, the Inner Child Collection, the WellBeing Collection… and so on. Life seems to make sense to me when it is compartmentalized :)
Here is the page that I’ve been building. It will allow you to journey from 2006 through now, to see how the artwork has shifted in color and style (2004-2005 pieces coming at some point).
If you look through the Privately Owned Collection (at the very bottom of the list), you can see actual waves of coloring… my blue stages, my earthy stages… my light and airy stages.
For 20 years I’ve been creating & releasing paintings, selling them, and packaging them to ship all over the globe. THANK YOU ♥
And now I sit. I walk, explore, listen, sketch, and thumb through ideas in my heart and mind, seeking the best right one to be next.
For you, this new season, I wish clarity, time to stop and think. Moments to touch tree bark, smell flowers, put your feet in wet grass. Freedom of mind to laugh foolishly at dumb things with your kids, be a dork, and enjoy ♥
Wishing you a lovely end to your week.
Love & Sincerely, Katie
