I recently had the honor to create a large commissioned painting for a valued collector in Italy ~ the piece came together as if it was always meant to be, as though its image was just waiting in the wings for me to pluck it out and love it on to the canvas.
Inspired by a photo of Letizia and her daughter sleeping together, it seemed perfect to blend the figures together, no need to show the separation of mother and child, in my opinion.
And the title In The Arms Of A Beautiful Dream fit on several levels.
Upon completion and approval, the canvas containing this painting was removed from the stretcher bars and carefully rolled and packaged for shipping to Italy.
I took photos throughout the process of deconstruction and packing and thought you might find it interesting! So I have a little photo tour for you:
In the meantime, here we are before saying goodbye:
and here is In The Arms Of A Beautiful Dream in her new home with her new family in Italy!

A word about shipping paintings internationally:
A painting up to 20×20” in size will ship internationally via Priority mail, on its wooden stretcher bars in a sturdy box and will arrive ready-to-hang. A painting larger than 20″ on a side will be removed from the stretcher bars and with canvas rolled, will be shipped in a sturdy tube. Rolled paintings ship via Priority Express International. The painting can then be re-stretched onto new stretcher bars in an art or framing shop near your home. I have had several collectors go through this shipping and re-stretching route without trouble!
Have a wonderful day!
Love & Sincerely, Katie
