Her flesh is an ocean, with its shape like a full and moving body of life. Also, a flower bulb, sprouting pure shiny growth from layered tissues. Your touch would be surprised at her smoothness, how clean she has become and how soft. Like a soul that has suffered, learned, but lived ~ she’s ready to bloom again…
After much consideration, drawing, reading, writing… my newest collection has begun. It started developing in 2022, and has waited in my journals for rediscovery, never really leaving my mind. (Click the image to watch a little video of the progress so far!)
I'm swimming in PAGES of notes,
observations and sketch after sketch after sketch...
but this body of work is still unfolding for me.
The things I DO have figured out:
- they will be on 10x20 inch deep canvases.
- they will all be women, some with a child.
- they will each have a story. I'm writing those now.
- I originally thought they'd all be earthy tones, but as you can see, they had different ideas :)
- The Seeker's trees and rivers are peeking in (as you can see).
- some will have poems and writing incorporated.
- they will explore a variety of body sizes and skin tones.
There is no rush in me for this currently unnamed collection, there is only the yearning for a journey and an exploration of texture, surface, faces and figures.
It HAS seized my heart, though.
